“Transformation is not five minutes from now; it’s a present activity. At this moment you can make a different choice, and it’s these small choices and successes that build up over time to help cultivate a healthy self-image and self-esteem.” – Jillian Michaels
Hi Superstar,
Mental stagnation drains your energy and slowly sucks the life out of you. When you declutter your mental space, just like clearing out physical space, you find valuables you had long forgotten about. Mental transformation and physical transformation are two completely different things. Mental transformation refers to a person’s psychological growth, the way we think and deal with different situations, and by what methods we develop and disseminate information.
Mental transformation requires honesty, to move forward, you must be honest with yourself. To excel physically, you must first surround yourself with mental fertilizers. This way, you shift yourself to a completely new dimension of experience and perception. As the caterpillar undergoes a transformation within the cocoon before emerging as a butterfly; likewise, life experiences shape character.
Here are ways you can transform mentally;
Enrich your mind: Build a positive mental foundation. The world was created as a process of our thinking, challenge yourself to learn new things. By doing this, you won’t let yourself get stuck in one place, you will be proactive and more conscious.
Fertilize your mind: Plant nutrients in your mind. Like garbage in and garbage out, take in positive thoughts and your life will be positive.
Monitor your moods: Dealing with a minor mood change is much easier, and better for you in the long run, than remaining out of touch with yourself and then ending up in a much worse state. So take time each day to just check in with yourself. Ask yourself how you are feeling, and why you are feeling these things.
Stop pleasing everyone else, and just please yourself: Stop trying to be liked by everyone and focus on being loved by you. When you sacrifice bits of yourself to keep everyone else happy, you become exhausted and this can affect you mentally.
Self-gratitude: Always cheer yourself. At the end of each day, write down things you are thankful for. This looks simple, but it’s a game-changer. It makes it easier for you to get up and be positive the next morning.
