Hi Superstar,
Lately, the word, ‘Superstar’ has been my favorite word as Mondays have been my favorite day of the week. Funny enough, it wasn’t always like this. I used to dread Mondays especially when I was employed and laid off last year in March. Mondays were mundane and as someone who was used to waking up and going straight to opening her emails and laptop, it was hard to adjust to that phrase of unemployment.
However, the worse times were from the 26th of February, 2020 till sometime in September, 2020. The COVID-19 era was the time, I had that ‘moment’ when you question and evaluate yourself like, “What are you doing with your life, Mary-Esther? What do you even love doing? Are you going to practice law?”.
I was once clueless about my career path, I made lots of mistakes on the path and got a lot of rejections too. This is why I know its so normal to make mistakes, to be clueless and to get rejections because it won’t always be like this. In two, three , four year time, you will take a memory trip down your career journey and smile or even write an article like I’m currently doing. Plot twist, I still haven’t even figured everything out but I see a hope…. A hope that it will be a successful career.
So, as I sit here staring at my computer screen, my mind is consumed with thoughts of how to portray what a dream career is, even when the outcome was unknown, how i was willing to take risks, make mistakes, and learn from them and how to word the emotions I felt when I got my first remote job…That feeling of fulfillment, joy, and purpose that this was a career I knew I was meant to pursue. Those thoughts I had when I woke up each day and did something that filled me with a sense of excitement and purpose.
To anyone out there who is struggling to find their dream career, I urge you to keep going. Don't give up until you find that light bulb, no matter how challenging the path may seem. Remember that the journey towards your dream is just as important as the destination. And most importantly, believe in yourself and your abilities, because you are capable of finding that light that lits your career bulb.
The Best Job Strategies in Finding your Dream Career
Finding the right job can be a daunting task, but with the right job search strategies, it can be an exciting and rewarding experience. Job search strategies involve a range of activities, including networking, resume writing, and interviewing skills. In this article, we will explore some of the best job search strategies to help you find and land the right job.
Networking
Networking is one of the most effective job search strategies, and it involves building relationships with people who can help you find job opportunities. Networking can take many forms, including attending job fairs, joining professional organizations, and using social media platforms like LinkedIn.
Attending job fairs is an excellent way to meet employers face-to-face and learn about job openings in your field. Professional organizations are also a great way to network with people in your industry, share ideas, and learn about job opportunities. Finally, social media platforms like LinkedIn can be used to connect with professionals in your industry, share your resume, and showcase your skills and experience.
Resume Writing
Your resume is your first chance to make a good impression on potential employers. A well-written resume can make the difference between getting an interview and being passed over. When writing your resume, it's important to highlight your skills, experience, and achievements. Make sure to tailor your resume to each job you apply for, highlighting the skills and experience that are most relevant to the position.
Interviewing Skills
The interview is the most important part of the job search process, and it's essential to prepare thoroughly for it. Before the interview, research the company and the position you are applying for. Practice answering common interview questions, and prepare questions of your own to ask the interviewer.
During the interview, make sure to dress professionally, arrive on time, and be polite and respectful. Listen carefully to the interviewer's questions, and answer them honestly and confidently. Finally, make sure to follow up with the interviewer after the interview to thank them for their time and reiterate your interest in the position.

Career Motivation for the Week
Dear Superstar,
As you begin this week, I want to remind you of the importance of staying motivated and focused on your career goals. Remember, your career is not just a job, it's a journey towards personal and professional growth.
It's easy to lose sight of the big picture when we get caught up in the day-to-day tasks and challenges. But don't let setbacks or obstacles discourage you. Instead, use them as opportunities to learn and improve.
Take time to reflect on what motivates you and what drives you towards success. Is it the desire to make a difference in your industry? The satisfaction of achieving your goals? Or the sense of purpose that comes from doing meaningful work?
Whatever your motivation may be, hold onto it and use it to fuel your actions. Set clear and specific goals for yourself, and create a plan to achieve them. Break down your goals into smaller, manageable steps, and celebrate each accomplishment along the way.
Remember, your career is a journey, not a destination. Embrace the challenges, stay focused on your goals, and always keep moving forward. With determination, hard work, and a positive attitude, you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
Cheering for you as always!
Yours truly,
Your Career Cheerleader,
Mary-Esther Anele
