HOW TO SET A THEME FOR THE NEW YEAR
Creating a theme for 2023 is a way of being very intentional about the kind of life you want to create for yourself in 2023. Unlike resolutions, they are simple words or phrases that act as a mantra for your everyday life. They are like a North Star, guiding you towards your life vision and keeping you aligned with your core values. It allows you to focus on who you are rather than what you want. This is why it’s important to create a theme for yourself and not one made by other people. Here are 3 steps to guide you in a creating a theme for yourself;
Think of the Big Picture: Imagine how you want to see yourself by the end of 2023.
Reflect on last year: Set aside a time to think about what you want to leave behind? What went incredibly well? What you want more of?
The more you think about what you really want, how you want to feel, who you want to be rather than just what you want to get, the better your theme will guide you to have the kind of year that will lead you where you want to go.
Write it down and keep it somewhere you can see: Your theme is only as powerful as you make it! Write it down somewhere that is visible to you daily. Your yearly theme should motivate you to be the version of yourself that you dreamed about back in step one. And it can only do that when it is at the front of your mind, so make it easy for yourself to remember and keep it present.
Note: Adopting themes instead of goals is the universal truth that direction is more important than pace.
