Hi Superstars,
Firstly, greetings with a festive "Ho Ho Ho," and a Merry Christmas to you all! 🎉 This is the final newsletter for 2023. The journey has been amazing, and I'm deeply grateful for each one of you. Here are some remarkable highlights from 2023:
In January, we successfully launched our website/job board, and by March, we had garnered over 2.5 million traffic views.
February saw the creation of our community on Slack, which now boasts over 600 incredible superstars.
During the first quarter, we published our inaugural remote work resource, the Remote Work Salary Handbook—a guide designed to assist remote workers worldwide in understanding and negotiating their worth.
In April, we issued a call for volunteers, attracting exceptionally talented individuals to join our team. We also collaborated with our first remote tech company, Superreply Co.
May marked a milestone as we recorded over 19,000 users globally utilizing the job board to apply for opportunities. Additionally, we initiated a new segment in our blog called the "Remote Worker's Spotlight," featuring outstanding remote professionals from around the world sharing their experiences, insights on securing remote jobs, challenges faced, what has propelled their success, and advice for fellow job seekers.
June saw the release of our free remote work guides, "The ABC of a Successful Remote Job Application" and "Introduction to Remote Work” to help job seekers and professionals navigate remote living.
In August, we received stellar reviews from users attesting to their success in securing job opportunities through the job board and our services. We also introduced a new newsletter series, "The ABC of Remote Work," aimed at aiding job seekers and professionals in gaining a deeper understanding of remote work.
September brought over 20,000 users on TikTok, and our Instagram engagement surged compared to previous months.
By October, we participated in a total of 10 speaking engagements, both virtual and physical, discussing remote work in Africa and guiding job seekers on navigating remote work. We collaborated with incredible communities such as Google Women Techmakers, Ingressive for Good, SisterlyHQ, Women in Data, Wiicreate, and The Employment Bootcamp by Naomi Lucas.
During the same month, we published our resume templates and customization guide, assisting job seekers in crafting the perfect resume for their desired remote roles. Additionally, we secured our first tech startup partnership for advertising job openings, receiving commendations for our services.
In November, we upgraded the site from version 1.0 to 2.0, incorporating a more user-friendly interface and additional tags to promote more inclusive remote opportunities, particularly women-friendly roles for both tech and non-tech professionals.
As we conclude December, our job board boasts over 30,000 users and continues to receive positive reviews from job seekers worldwide. However, one thing remains and will continue to remain constant—one company, one job, and one job seeker at a time. Our goal is to bridge the gap, and we are committed to doing so.
